Exposing the Racism Inherent in Physics

Now that I've joined the fast-paced, exciting world of blogging, I feel that my posts, while being the height of edumacagament, should also focus on all the people making a stand every day, fighting to make the world a better place. So today I'll will highlight the brave actions of Dallas County Commissioner John Wiley Price, and his fight to end the inherent racism in physic terminology.

At a recent County Commissioner meeting
, Commissioner Dennis Mayfield, a white man, referred to how traffic and parking tickets disappear without getting processed like they fell into a "Black Hole". John Wiley Davis, the Rosa Parks of County Commissioner Meetings regarding parking fines, boldly stood up to this oppression via scientific terms of astrophysics by declaring Mayfield a racist. Good for him. It's about time someone took a stand by exposing how the unbelievably offensive term "black hole" paints a negative stigma on the African-American community. Hopefully next meeting he'll address how antiquated it is to refer to quarks as "colored".

At least the homophobic practice of referring to quarks as "top" or "bottom" has been curtailed.

Maybe one day we can enlighten ourselves and let the quarks come out of confinement.

I have a couple of grammar errors in the post, I just noticed. I should consider not writing these at the local pub after two or six Summits.

Nah, I'll keep writing 'em at the pub.

I say fuck the quarks. If God wanted them and their gayness to be on display he wouldn't have created a special force just to keep them confined. It's like the aids for them it is.

Indeed. Marriage was meant to be between one quark and one lepton.

As physics doesn't work that way, it's just more proof that science is the devil.

most physicists are gay

Congrats on starting a blog. Now join the atheist blogroll so I don't have to put you down twice on my sidebar.

Actually the way to make derogatory words about race less powerful is to give them alternative meanings.
How about calling meteors "gooks" instead. And lets call planets "kikes." We can call the "eye" of a hurricane a "towel head" instead.

A little late to the comments, but I just wanted to add the perspective of someone living in the Dallas area.

John Wiley Price is a fucking nutjob, who sees racism everywhere he turns, even in the grocery store.

In an interview following this embarassment, he complained about white cake being called Angel Food cake, while the darkie cake is Devil's Food. Blatant racism!!!

Incidentally, Price wasn't the only paranoid on the City Council. A judge (I forget his name), who also happens to be black, jumped in right behind Price, immediately demanding an apology from Mayfair.

Attempts to explain that it was a physics term were shushed away.
